Chapter 1

The start of Crystal’s adventures

My name is Crystal, and I live in the worst suburb in this state, Sleevesville, or better known as Sleezville, well known for its prostitution and illegal drug trafficking, not really a family friendly place, not even at day. My new job is a storyteller, which I am fortunate enough to have been doing for several years, and my dream is to move away from this place, preferably to Golden Hills, where there are rolling hills covered with yellow flowers and the people are friendly and approachable.

At home I had been making preparations for my ‘girls night out’, checking see if my makeup was all neat and tidy, making sure that what I was wearing isn’t too skimpy, and that my shoes matched my outfit.

‘Knock, knock’, I stopped typing in my journal to see who was at the door.

“Hi Crystal, ready for a girls night out with your two best friends?” asked Rose cheerfully. Rose was always cheerful. She loved manga and anime and held a job as a graphic artist. She had pink hair worn up in a pony tail with a blue ribbon to hold it.

“Yep, sure am, beats sitting here being bored stiff”, I replied enthusiastically,

“Well then I’m gonna give you a makeover first and get you out of those old boring clothes and into something sexy!” said Belle excitedly. Belle loved giving people makeovers and dressing up in the latest fashion, so she became a fashion designer.

“My clothes aren’t boring!” I told Belle firmly, suggesting to her that I put a lot of effort into getting dressed, but she implied that they were, so I got changed into the clothes she picked out for me, which was a little black dress, black stilettos and some matching earrings and necklace, she also did my makeup, since she thinks that I’m hopeless at doing my own makeup.

“Are you sure this is going to suit me?” I said to Belle as she was doing my makeup,

“Hold still or I’ll end up by smudging it and you’ll look like a clown!” she told me sternly as she was applying the lip gloss, so to avoid looking like a clown I stayed perfectly still as she did my makeup.

“There, all done”, she said in an accomplished tone, then I stood up to look at myself in a mirror,

“Wow! I look like a model, awesome job Belle!” I said excitedly,

“Well what would you expect from me, I’m a fashion expert, remember? Now let’s head on over to my place for a ladies night!” replied Belle enthusiastically,

‘O.k., but I don’t understand why you dressed me up like this when we were just going to your place”, I said as I was getting led out the door by Rose,

“Belle just wanted to dress you up so you could look cute, and it’s also a ladies night so you got to look pretty, now let’s go!” said Rose hurriedly.

So the three of us went over to Belles place for a ladies night and before we went into her house I was told to put on a blind fold, so I did, and then Belle and Rose led me in to the house and sat me down on a chair,

“OK take of your blind fold!” said Rose excitedly, and as I did I saw someone standing in front of me,

“You got me a male stripper?!” I asked as I turned to Belle, knowing her dirty mind,

“Well yeah, I mean you looked depressed just typing in your journal and I thought this would cheer you up”, Belle replied,

“Plus this might be something interesting to put in your journal!” Rose replied happily,

“Thanks, I’ll keep that in mind”, I replied sarcastically.

When I first saw the stripper dressed up as a police officer I thought to myself ‘Belle you dirty girl, get your mind out of the gutter’, and I was shocked, and excited at the same time, so I decided to see where things went from there, and anyway, this would make for something interesting to go in my journal.

Belle turned on some erotic music and the stripper got into position as Rose and Belle took a seat.

“You’ve broken the law of being ‘couped up in your house’, so I’m going to have to punish you myself”, he said in his sophisticated, baritone voice, as he started to unbutton his shirt, revealing his muscular chest.

I felt a rush of excitement flow through my veins as I watched him unbutton his shirt further, revealing his perfect abs, then he took off his shirt and threw it at me, and I reached out to catch it,

“Oh, he has such a perfect body!” said Rose excitedly,

“Yeah, that’s true!” I replied with a big grin on my face, and then he came towards me and leant forward, leaning his lean and muscular arms on the back of the seat.

Our eyes meet as I looked into his light aqua eyes, they were the most beautiful eyes that I had ever made contact with, but I knew I couldn’t let myself get too attached to him because he was a stripper, so I smiled politely, and he smiled back.

He got up and started to unbutton his pants, slowly revealing his erotic underwear that he was wearing, and took them off and threw his pants at me, and I managed to catch them too.

I then looked at his long and fit legs, slowly working my way up to his face looked upon his chiselled features then I couldn’t take anymore, so I had to do something,

“I have to go, I just do!” I said abruptly as I stood up, collected my bag and left.

“Wait!” I heard Rose yell, but I didn’t stop and I ran out the door and down a few streets in a fluster until I found myself lost. I tried to find a street sign, but it was too dark, and then I saw a tall figure appear out of the dark, it was Wayne.

“Well well well, look who we have here, a little play toy”, he said in a devious way. Wayne had a strong ‘California-surfer’ accent, which made him sound crazier than normal.

I looked upon his scarred face, I could smell that he’d been drinking and smoking something new, but thought to myself that I wouldn’t be scared, so I swallowed my fear and stood up to him.

“I’m not a toy; I’m a person, like you!” I told him firmly, then he gave me a crazed look. I’d seen him give other unfortunate people that same look and they always ended up hurt. It made even more frightened, but I knew that I couldn’t let him know I was scared, but he knew I was scared and made a grab for me. But as soon as he tried someone reached out and grabbed his wrist and pulled him away, throwing him to the ground.

“Leave her alone!” said this mysterious figure in a familiar voice I’d heard before,

“Or what?!” said Wayne in a crazed way,

“Or I’ll make you regret it!” he said angrily,

“OH YEAH!!!” shouted Wayne, then he took a swipe at the mystery man, but he managed to avoid the punch, he caught Wayne’s wrist and pulled it behind him as he pushed him into the wall,

“Call the police”, he told me, and I grabbed my phone out of my bag and dialled the cops.

“You better hope I don’t get out of jail because when I do its payback time ha ha ha ha haaa!!” Wayne shouted at us as he was being taken away. Then mystery man revealed himself. It was the stripper that Belle hired to cheer me up, I thought to myself, ‘Well that sure did cheer me up’.

“Are you alright?” he said,

“I am now that you rescued me”, I replied then he laughed,

“Do you know who that person was?” the mystery man asked me,

“Yeah, he’s Wayne, he’s a bit crazy, in a ‘horror movie villain’ way”, I replied, and the mystery man laughed,

“My names J, what’s your name?” J asked me, as he held out his hand so he could shake mine,

“I’m Crystal”, I said while shaking his hand, still shaken up about what Wayne said about ‘getting back at us’,

“You don’t have to worry about him, he’s behind bars now”, he reassured me, “Now let me walk with you so that you don’t get lost again”,

“Ok, but first where am I?” I asked, looking around at the street I was in,

“This ‘Quaint’ town is Weinerton, not really a safe place for a young lady such as yourself to be running around at night”, he replied,

“Don’t think that I’m soft, I come from Sleevesville, and it’s worse there”, I answered whilst putting my hands on my hips,

“Oh no, I know you’re a strong lady, I can tell by how you handled yourself back there, it was pretty impressive”, J responded. I blushed with embarrassment, trying to hide the redness of my cheeks in my hair,

“Don’t do that, I can’t see your face”, J said, giving me another one of his gentle smiles. I looked into his beautiful aqua eyes and smiled back, and then I turned to look straight ahead and cleared my throat,

“Ahem, well maybe I don’t want you to see my face”, I answered, trying to get my focus back, I heard J snicker at me.

“Here we are”, I said as we went up the stairs, “Do you want to come in for a drink?”

“Ok, why not?” J replied and walked up the stairs.

“Well here’s the loungroom, just take a seat somewhere while I prepare the drinks, what do you want?” I asked J,

“What do you have?” he asked,

“Well I have O.J, cola, lemonade, beer, even though I don’t drink the stuff, or water”, I said,

“I’ll have an O.J”, J told me, and so I poured two glasses of O.J.

“There you go”, I said as I placed the glass of O.J on the table in front of him,

“Thanks Crystal”, he replied, reaching for the glass,

“Not to be rude or anything but why is someone like you a stripper?” I asked curiously,

“To tell you the truth that was my last performance, I needed extra cash so I could pay my outstanding bills, then I saw the sign in a window and thought ‘it’s just this one time’, and went ahead with it”, J answered

“Well then what are you going to do for a job to get an income?” I asked him,

“I’ve applied for a job at ‘Byte Me’ as a computer programmer and my interview is in two weeks”, he replied,

“Wow, that’s pretty impressive!” I replied enthusiastically as J finished his glass of O.J.

“What about you, what do you do for a living?” he asked,

“Well I write stories: kids, romance, comedy, adult, all kinds”, I replied,

“That’s good, and you get paid by how many books you sell?” he asked,

“Yeah, that’s right, it’s a good thing that my books aren’t boring, unlike my life”, I sarcastically replied as I pointed to my computer, then J laughed. We talked about ourselves for a while then it started getting late, so J headed home.

After he left I headed up to my room and grabbed my P.J’s and as I got changed into them. I started to think about him and how he saved me from Wayne’s attack. I could only think about how kind he was, about how strong his character was and those gemstone aqua eyes of his, but I told myself that he probably has a girlfriend already, so I brushed my teeth and went to sleep.

Chapter 2

Something to look forward to

I woke up and looked out my window to see it was another warm and sunny morning, so I decided to get changed into my tracksuit and go for a brisk walk. As I stepped outside I saw J in the park across the street from where I lived, I watched him as he practiced his martial arts, watching as he did a few kicks and uppercuts, then he turned his head towards me and I looked away before he could see me watching him,

“Hello Crystal!” he yelled at me as he saw me from across the street,

“Hi J!” I shouted at him, pretending I didn’t know he was there And then made my way over towards him,

“What are you doing here?” I asked him, as I walked over towards him, I pretended not to know that he was practicing his martial arts,

“You should know, you’ve been watching me practice”, he replied, pointing out that he saw me watching him,

“No way, why would I watch you for? That would be kind of weird”, I replied, hoping to outsmart him,

“Yes, I guess it would”, he said looking at me smugly, then I spotted Wayne out the corner of my eye, so I gestured him out to J,

“What’s he doing here?” I asked J, but he didn’t know, then Wayne approached us.

“Look who we have here? Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dumb!” Wayne said rudely, with a crazed look upon is face,

“Wow, I didn’t think I’d meet one of the three stooges here!” I replied sarcastically, and then Wayne growled.

“I thought you were in jail?” asked J,

“Well, looks like I got a get out of jail free card called bail”, Wayne said,

“Who would be dumb enough to do that?” I asked Wayne,

“An associate of mine”, Wayne said,

“Yeah, probably one of your ‘psychopathic ‘associates!”, I replied sarcastically,

“If you get me angry, my ‘associate’ won’t be the only one who’ll be psychopathic! Because remember, I said I’ll get you back, soon enough! HA HA HA HA HAAAAAA”, Wayne laughed, his face looking crazier than before,

“If you hurt Crystal you’ll be where you belong, in jail!” J sternly told Wayne,

“Are you threatening me, because there’s nothing the cops can do about me now! Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha!!!” Wayne laughed as he walked away,

“Oh no! That psycho idiot’s gonna get back at me!”, I said fearfully, then J reassured me that Wayne couldn’t do anything because there would be lots of police on the street, and that he would protect me too. I felt relieved to hear him say that.

I continued my brisk walk, and then my phone started to ring,

“Hello?” I sad as I answered my phone,

“Hi Crystal, are you excited about tomorrow?” Rose asked me,

“Why, what’s happening tomorrow?” I asked, feeling like I’d forgot something,

“What do you mean ‘What’s happening tomorrow?’ it’s the day we set off for the two week cruise on the ocean, remember?” Rose told me,

“Oh no! I forgot, thanks for reminding me Rose”, I said, then hung up the phone and rushed back home to hurriedly pack,

“Stupid, stupid, stupid!” I scorned myself, whilst I was rushing to get inside and pack my things into my luggage carrier,

“Bathers? Check, Shampoo? Check, Toothpaste? Toothpaste?!, Oh shit where is it?!”, I asked myself as I was starting to panic, it was 5:30pm and I had to rush to the shops to get the toothpaste before they closed, so I ran out the door, locking it behind me and rushed to the shops.

There was a long line in the express checkouts, so I decided to go through one of the other checkouts,

“You know there’s an express line over there!” said a rude man,

“Have you seen how long it is?” I asked him, annoyed at the tone he used on me,

“Do I look like I care? NO!” He snarled at me. I ignored him, but he kept insulting me, and then, when I paid for my toothpaste, I heard him call me such a rude name that I blew my top,

“Look buster, if you don’t like the idea of having to wait for someone to buy one item, then what the fuck are you doing here?!” I shouted at him His face was stunned. I then left the store, hearing people cheering for me, and I smiled as I kept walking, and then hurried home.

“Ahhhh, finished packing!” I told myself as I looked upon my luggage proudly, then the phone rang,

“Hello?” I said as I answered my phone,

“Hi Crystal, its Belle, are you packed for the cruise, because I heard that you spaced on it”, Belle asked curiously,

“As a matter of fact I’ve just finished packing”, I told Belle proudly,

“Good, I hoped you packed your ‘essentials’”, Belle said to me,

“I did, I got my bathers, shampoo, toothpaste, don’t need towels or soap because they would supply them there, which is good”, I told Belle,

“Really, well then I can unpack my towels!” Belle told me happily, “Oh did you pack makeup?” Belle asked. I knew she would ask this. If I or Rose didn’t pack makeup she would pack some for the both of us, but even if we did, she would still pack some for the both of us anyway,

“Yes, even though you’re gonna pack enough makeup for the entire cruise ship”, I replied sarcastically,

“You can never have enough makeup”, Belle replied, “What about some sexy dresses?” she went on to ask,

“It’s just gonna be the three of us, why would I need to pack dresses?” I asked curiously, but I knew the reply she was going to give,

“Who knows, you might meet a cute guy, or that sexy stripper I hired to cheer you up might be performing there”, Belle replied cheekily,

“Very funny, and that was just a one time performance”, I told Belle,

“How do you know, did you ‘meet up’ with him?” Belle asked sarcastically,

“As a matter of fact he told me after he saved me from Wayne”. I told her, proud of J’s actions,

“Really, wow, that’s so heroic, did you get his name?” she asked,

“Yes, his name is J”, I told her,

“J huh, is it short for something?” she asked,

“I don’t know, he didn’t tell me”, I told her,

“Ok, I better let you go. Don’t forget we leave at nine in the morning from your house, see you then”, Belle told me,

“Ok, I won’t forget, see you tomorrow”, I replied, then hung up the phone and went to unwind after a long, tiering day.

Chapter 3 

The S.S Richter 

It was the following morning and I saw a beautiful sunrise outside my window, which made me look forward to the trip, so I decided to get up and have breakfast, and I was eating my breakfast when I heard the doorbell ring,

“That must be Belle and Rose” I told myself as I got up to answer the door,

“Hi Crystal, ready to go?” asked Rose excitedly as she and Belle came inside,

“Ready as I’ll ever be”, I said as I cleaned up my breakfast plates, then collected my bags, and headed out of the house.

As we approached the cruise ship I saw J further down the boarding line from where we were, and I pretended not to have noticed him as we boarded the ship.

“Tickets please”, said the woman standing at the front of the ship, so we handed the woman our tickets, which showed which rooms we were in, and were guided to our rooms.

“Sorry you’re going to have to be in a room of your own”, the stewardess told me,

“Why? I wanted to share a room with my friends”, I told the stewardess, annoyed at the fact that I would have to be in a room of my own,

“I’m sorry for any inconvenience this might have caused, but the rooms can only hold two people comfortably, so we had to put you in room thirty-two”, the stewardess apologised,

“I guess I can settle with that, anyway my friends are in the room next to mine, room thirty one, and I get extra space too, so it’s a bonus”, I said reassuringly.

As I was getting settled into my room, I heard a lot of thumping coming from room thirty-three, I tried to ignore it at first, but the thumping continued, so I angrily decided to give the person in the next room a piece of my mind,

“Do you mind...” I said as I opened the door only to notice that it was J thumping around in the room next to mine,

“Sorry to have been causing so much noise, I’m having trouble closing the door to the wardrobe”, he explained,

“Well why don’t you just put something in front of the wardrobe to close it”, I suggested,

"That’s a good idea Crystal, thank you for that", J said, giving me one of his friendly smiles. I tried not to get bashful, as I tend to when he smiles,

"No problem", I said, smiling back at him.

I decided to find Belle and Rose so that we could look around the cruise ship together; we put on our bathers, in case we wanted to go swimming after we walked around. We found a gaming room, which had the usual gambling games like Texas poker, Roulette, Blackjack, etcetera, and an arcade room for those who have children, or just don't like gambling. But we decided to go out onto the deck to check out the pool, considering it was a beautiful sunny day.

When we got outside the first thing that Belle saw was the sun lounges. She immediately told us that she was going to sunbathe, and ran towards them, whilst I and Rose headed for the pool.

“Last one in is a rotten egg!” Rose shouted to me cheerfully as she jumped in the pool,

“Hey wait up”, I told her, and as I was about to hop into the pool, I spotted Wayne out the corner of my eye. Terror immediately struck me as I found myself stranded at sea with a diabolic criminal. I immediately jumped in the pool, hoping he didn’t see me, and hid in a crowd of people.

“What’s wrong Crystal?” Rose asked me, worried that I might be sick, then as she was looking at me she saw Wayne sit on one of the sun lounges close to Belle. Rose pointed this out to me and I turned around to look.

“Oh no! I hope Belle doesn’t say anything to upset him” I told Rose,

“Me too”, she replied.

As Wayne sat down near Belle, J walked past and sat in between them,

“I hope you two don’t mind if I sit here”, he asked, trying to keep Wayne away from Belle,

“Go ahead, I was just leaving anyway!” Wayne snarled as he got up and went back to his room,

“Hey thanks for that J. Oh Crystal’s in the pool somewhere too if you wanna hope in with her”, Belle told J,

“That sounds like a good idea, thanks Belle”, J replied as he got up to get into the pool.

As I saw Wayne leave I sighed a sigh of relief. Then I noticed J coming towards me, and as he was walking towards me it felt as if he was walking in slow motion. Seeing his hot six pack abs glistening in the sun, his soft brownish-red hair bouncing with each step he took, and those beautiful aqua eyes sparkling in the light, they matched the colour of the pool water, I was captivated, and then I heard Rose speak,

“Crystal, I’ve called your name three times”, she told me,

“Huh, oh, sorry”, I said, embarrassed about getting caught out staring at J, then I heard Rose giggle,

“Knock it off”, I scorned, getting more embarrassed, and then J spoke to me,

“You don’t mind if I hop in?” he asked, knowing that I would say yes,

“What do you think?” I asked sarcastically,

“Well I won’t know until you give me a definite answer”, he replied,

“Sure thing”, I said, so he came in.

Whilst I and J were talking, Belle was enjoying a nice sun bath, and then a ball hit her,

“Sorry about that”, apologised a young man, Belle wasn’t too happy about what had happened, and was about to get annoyed at the man, then she saw him come out of the pool He was tall, with a light tan and a athletic build.

“Oh, don’t worry, it’s not like I broke a nail”, Belle replied, and the man laughed,

“My name’s Aiden, what’s yours?” Aiden asked curiously,

“Belle Finch, future fashion label”, she said confidently,

“Wow, did you design your own bathers?” Aiden asked,

“Of course, I never buy my clothes at the store, just my cosmetics and shoes”, she told Aiden,

“Ok, that sounds awesome, do you want to play water polo with us?” asked Aiden

“No thanks, I’ll watch from here”, replied Belle

“Ok”, replied Aiden as he made his way in to the water.

The game was about to start when suddenly dark ominous clouds started to form over the ship and rain started to pour down. The captain immediately announce that everybody was to go back inside quickly, insinuating that a storm was approaching, so, in a hurry we went inside to wait out the storm.

The storm gradually got worse with the winds gaining strength, the rain getting heavier; the waves increasing in size and people started to worry as they saw chain lightning in the distance. The captain tried to change course, but the strength of the waves pushed the ship side to side and eventually the engine gave way, due to the ferocity of the storm, and everyone was left stranded out in the stormy seas.

“I think that was the engine”, Belle said as she heard a loud mechanical noise coming from a room that had a sign on it saying ‘KEEP OUT, AUTHORISED PERSONNEL ONLY’. We were worried and were wondering if we would get out of the storm alive. Rose was scared, and so she kept close to Belle,

“Oh no! I’m too young to die!!” screamed Rose, frightened of the storm,

“No one’s going to die, we’ll make it out alive”, I reassured her as I looked around for J. Then out of the corner of my eye I saw him. ‘Phew!’ I thought to myself, relieved he was ok.

The lightning struck close to the ship, scaring Rose even more. Then another bolt of lightning struck, hitting the ship and there was a big explosion and water came rushing in. The alarms sounded as passengers panicked,

“Passengers please don’t panic, form a group of thirty and we will have a member of the crew escort you to safety”, the captain said calmly over the crackly speaker. I thought to myself how were they going to get 300 passengers into the emergency boats? Then, as I was being escorted along with Belle, Rose and J, I saw that they had ten smaller emergency boats. Then I heard Belle squeal quietly under her breath.

“What’s wrong?” I asked her curiously. Then she told me that Aiden was going to share the same boat as us, pointing him out to me, and out of the corner of my eye, I saw Wayne. He was sharing the same boat as us too. I decided to keep this to myself, because I didn’t want Belle or Rose to worry.

As we finished boarding the boat we saw that the lightning had hit some of the other boats, killing some of the other passengers. We, and the other passengers, were shocked at what we saw, but the boats started taking off,

“We can’t just leave them!” shouted one passenger,

“Yeah we gotta help them”, said another passenger,

“We can’t go back, it’s too dangerous!” the captain said, remorsefully, and headed off.

The waves were stories high, towering over the tiny boats, and the wind was horrific. One boat capsized and the other snapped in two after being hit by a powerful wave. We knew we were next, and the boat was swept up by a gigantic wave. The wave pushed us higher up until we were over crest and as we were falling we screamed. Then we came smashing down towards the water, and everything went black.

Chapter 4 

The mysterious island 

I woke up to find myself stranded on a strange island. I looked around to see if I could find any of my friends, but all I could see were strange animals and plants. I shouted out their names whilst I looked for them, but to no avail, then I heard footsteps behind me. I immediately thought it was one of my friends, so I turned around, but to my shock it wasn’t what I had hoped.

“Meh!” cried the giant creature,

“A giant finch?” I said to myself as I was looking at the 10 foot bird, then it came closer and tilted its head towards me to see me better. I immediately thought it was hungry, so I decided to look for food for it.

“Hmmm, I wonder if it will eat this, it looks like milk thistle”, I said to myself. So I decided to pick the plant and give it to the bird.

The bird ate the milk thistle and grew bigger; it was now about 15 feet tall. I got a fright from what had happened, but the bird seemed thankful towards me me for feeding it and rubbed up against me, so I decided to give it a name.

“I’ll call you Rainbow”, I said, denoting how colourful its feathers were, and the bird chirped away happily. I then decided to climb onto its back and search for my friends from the air.

At that same time Belle and Rose were on the other side if the island, looking for me and anyone else that might have survived the shipwreck.

“I hope that there are more survivors”, Rose said, worried that they were the only survivors,

“I hope that Crystal has survived the crash, if she hasn’t who’s makeup will I fix up, and make look good?”, Belle asked concerned about my safety, then a 10 foot hippogriff approached her and Rose,

“AAAHHHHH!!!!” screamed Rose as she and Belle started to run away from the beast, then suddenly a giant shadow came over them, and they heard a noise. Hiss, Rainbow hissed at the hippogriff as it landed behind the creature,

“ARK!” screeched the hippogriff, trying to scare Rainbow off. I got off of the finch as it spread its wings and started to flap them. ‘Whoosh, whoosh’, the hippogriff knew it wouldn’t stand a chance, so it took off never to be seen again.

“Wwwhat it that?” stammered Rose fearfully as she pointed to the giant bird.

“It’s Rainbow, my giant friendly finch”, I replied, proud of Rainbows courage,

“CRYSTAL! I was worried about you!” shouted Belle and then she rushed up to me and gave me a big hug,

“Me too!” said Rose cheerfully as she rushed over to me to give me a hug,

“I didn’t know where you had gone so I caught a lift from my friend here”, I told Rose and Belle,

“Oh those colours look so good, aren’t Gouldian finches pretty”, said Belle,

“Is that what they are called?” replied a familiar voice from behind a tree. As we turned around we saw Aiden and J coming towards us.

“AIDEN!” screamed Belle as she rushed over towards him and as soon as I saw J a rush of excitement flowed through my body and I couldn’t contain myself.

“J! I thought you were dead!” I sobbed as I ran over towards him,

“It would take more than that to kill me”, he said confidently,

“We built a hut out of those big leaves and branches”, Aiden told us as he was pointing to the trees,

“Wow that’s very clever and resourceful”, I said in admiration of their work.

“You have Aiden to thank for that, he’s the one who came up with the idea”, explained J,

“Well then thank you Mr resourceful”, Belle said to Aiden in a cheeky way.

“You’re welcome”, Aiden said.

Meanwhile on another part of the island Wayne was lurking around trying to find out where he was and then he bumped into a small ferret like creature.

“Out of the way shrimp!” he said and then he stomped on the defenceless animal,

“This will make well, for food ha ha ha ha ha!” he laughed maliciously and then he made a fire pit and started a fire.

He began to eat the ferret like creature and something started to happen, he started to grow,

“Huh? Oh yeah this is awesome ha ha!” he laughed and then he continued to eat the animal, growing bigger with each bite. When he had finished it he was 30’ tall and he could see everything on the island. He then spotted Aiden and the gang and headed over towards them with each step shaking the ground.

“What’s that?” I asked feeling the ground shake under my feet,

“That!” Aiden said as he was pointing to Wayne in the distance.

“AHHH!” screamed me, Belle and Rose.

“I’ll protect you Crystal!” said an unknown voice and then Rainbow took flight with a flower in her beak.

“Eat this!” said Rainbow as she dropped the flower in Wayne’s mouth,

“Nice, now I’ll eat you!”, he shouted as he licked his lips and then something started to happen, he shrunk back to his normal size, then Rainbow landed in front of him

“Leave now or suffer the consequences!” she said angrily,

“Whatever, I’m outta here anyway”, Wayne said and left.

“You can talk?” I asked Rainbow surprised,

“Yes I can. My name is Rainbow and I’m a Gouldfin and am sadly the last of my species. I protect this island from creatures such as him and I can answer any of your questions”, she said.

“Ok, what’s this island called? Where is it? What date is it? How do we get off the island? And what’s up with the plants that make everything grow?” I asked demanding an explanation for all that has happened so far.

“Well this island is called Mayawawa. It is in the Bermuda triangle, it’s currently the 99/16/161987, there is a cave which will teleport you back to the nearest land but it has been lost for eons and never found and almost all the plants can be eaten. They all have different effects like some will make you grow, like the capachoia thistle you feed me before, some will make you shrink, like the toowana plant, some will restore normal size, like the bangledoodle flower and only one will kill you and that is the booma plant”, she explained.

She went on to tell us about what each plant’s effects were and what they looked like and that some of the animals will have the same effects as the plants. Whilst she was explaining a mysterious group of people were lurking around the make shift hut that Aiden and J made. Rose spotted them and sneaked over towards them to see who they were.

“Who are you guys?” she asked curiously. The group of people got a fright and jumped and Rose giggled at them.

“We’re looking for food”, a red haired man whispered, then continued looking for food,

“Here I have some chocolate”, she said as she handed the stranger some chocolate,

“Thanks”, he said and divided the chocolate between the six of them and ate the chocolate hurriedly,

“My name’s Simon Belmont and this here is Zach, Beatrice, Manuel, Huston and Stephanie”, he said,

“Hi, I’m Zach, wow I must be the smallest thing on this island, hee hee”, Zach introduced himself whilst shaking Rose’s hand vigorously.

“I’m Beatrice. If there’s anything you want to ask me just holler no need to beat around the bush Ha Ha ‘SNORT’, Sorry” she said in a strong Texan accent,

“I’m Manuel”, he said shyly. Manuel had a strong Spanish accent and didn’t speak much English.

“I’m Huston and this is my wife Stephanie. She can be a bitch most of the time”, he whispered in Rose’s ear,

“I heard that, you Dickhead! Now make me a hut or whatever it is you amazons live in!” she ordered.

I wasn’t that far away when I heard the group of people introduce themselves and the rude comment that Stephanie made, so I marched over to teach her a thing or two.

“Who the hell do you think you are? We were lucky to survive the fucken crash so stop bullying your husband and start giving him the respect he deserves!” I shouted at her in annoyance.

Silence fell as I looked at her in disbelief, her mouth was agape and then as I walked away I heard claps. I smiled as I walked away and then felt someone tugging my top,

“That was funny Hee Hee! Do it again!” Zach asked enthusiastically. I refused, and decided to go and make another hut for the other survivors.

I was gathering materials for the hut when I saw someone out the corner of my eye. It was Stephanie. I wandered to myself if she was going to attack me for humiliating her in front of everyone so I got up and turned around,

“Look I’m sorry for what happened before it’s just that I get that way when things go awry that’s all”, she said calmly,

“Wait so you’re not angry at me?” I asked curiously,

“No I’m not”, she replied,

“That’s good”, I said in relief. And then she helped me gather materials for the hut as a way of apologising to me.

When I and Stephanie got back with the materials we noticed that Manuel, Beatrice, Huston, J and Aiden were helping set up the hut while Belle, Rose, Zach, Rainbow, and Simon were collecting food. I helped setting up the hut and Stephanie helped with the food collection and everyone took turns helping.

Chapter 5 

Zach’s discovery 

It was soon evening and everyone was around a campfire telling stories. I told one of Vladula the vampire and how he fed on virgin woman’s blood, Aiden told one about a superhero who had environmental powers had to save the world from a super villain who wanted to destroy the world with pollution, J told one about a ghost that haunted a campfire, Belle told one about how she messed up someone’s makeup really bad and it looked like a monster then everyone laughed at her and Rose told one about a curse that turned everyone to zombies. While everyone was making up stories Zach decided to explore the island. No one noticed he had left.

“There must be hidden treasure! Mhe he he hee!” he laughed at himself as he went deeper into the forest.

He went further into the forest. The forest got denser and the night got darker as he travelled deeper and then he spotted a clearance where the moonlight of the full moon was shining on something reflective.

“Yes! Treasure! And far enough away from those pesky fools who want it all for themselves”, he said to himself. Then he went to see what the shiny object was and it was a gem and there was a more leading towards a cave so he went in.

As he explored the cave he encountered a group of small horse like creatures. Zach was confused with the appearance of the creatures but soon fell hungry so he went looking for food. He didn’t go far away in fear of someone else would get his treasure but one of the small creatures followed him, so he kicked it away gently and it made a noise then stopped moving. Zach was shocked to find out that he accidentally killed the creature so he decided not to waste a dead carcass and ate it. He then began to mutate into a giant muscular beast.

“Cool! Now I can start building my shack hee hee heee!” he cackled as he gathered supplies for his hut.

He finished building his hut which also acted as a fort for the gems that he found and decided to live there then the effect of the animal wore off.

“What! Oh No! I’m puny again damn it!” he shouted in disbelief.

“I have an idea!” he said to himself “I’ll make a farm and then I can be big and muscular again, ha ha ha!” he exclaimed manically and then started to build fences within the cave.

“Ahhh finished! Now all I need is some slaves!” he said to himself.

Chapter 6 

The search for Zach

It was late and everyone back at the campsite was looking for Zach after the story telling had finished noticing he had gone.

“We should go into the woods he could be there!” I said worried he might be dead,

“It’s too dangerous who knows what could be out there”, J replied,

“I do”, said Rainbow, “Take some of these the effects of these are not permanent but they will help you”, she added handing us some plants,

“Thanks”, I and J replied. We then made off into the woods.

“So is your name just an initial, or is it an actual name?” I asked J,

“Just an initial as far as I know. When I woke up in hospital they told me my name started with a J and which hospital I was in. The other stuff however I had to find out myself”, he replied,

“That sucks”, I said,

“Yes it does. Do you have a boyfriend?” asked J,

“No but would like one”, I said,

“Then it’s settled”, he said reaching out his hand to shake mine. So I shook his hand.

We had walked a fair distance when I saw something in the sky.

“Is that smoke?” I asked,

“Yes, it is we should investigate”, replied J. So we headed up towards the smoke and saw Zach cooking some meat.

“Zach! We’d thought you were dead”, I said in relief,

“Why?! Cause you want all the treasure to yourselves?! Huh?! HUH?!” he replied in a frenzy,

“No that’s not true at all!” J tried to explain,

“SILANCE! I SHOW YOU TO FEEL MY JEWELS!! I MEANT STEAL!! TAKE THIS!!” he shouted frantically and then ate some meat and started to transform.

“Uh Oh now we’re in for it”, I said worried,

“We still have these”, J said as he was showing the fruit that Rainbow had given us,

“THANKS FOR THAT MWE HEE HEE!!!” Zach said as he swiped the fruit from us making him grow larger,

“Run!” J said as he grabbed me and set off towards the camp site.

We made it back and told everyone about what had happened and what we discovered. Simon explained to everyone about how Zach was greedy and always acted aggressive and overprotective when it came to money and also about how he would always spend all his money at the casino trying to win something big, but to no avail.

After everything was explained everyone went to bed to get some shut eye.

Chapter 7 

Patching up some issues

It was morning and Beatrice was preparing breakfast for everyone. Manuel smelt what she was cooking and went over to her to see what it was she was cooking.

“Mmmm something smells nice”, Manuel complimented as he was walking over to see what she was cooking,

“Why thank yo...” she stopped in the middle of her sentence to see this tall man wearing dirty clothing and having short filthy hair standing near her.

“Keep away from the food! No one needs you getting your filth into it”, she exclaimed rudely,

“Fine! It’ll probably tastes worse now you’re cooking it!” shouted Manuel and then he stormed off. Rose saw him storm off angrily and went over to him to find out what the problem was.

“What’s wrong? Did Beatrice say something to upset you?” Rose asked and Manuel explained what had happened,

“Why would she say such a horrible thing to you?” Rose asked,

“Because she doesn’t like me for the fact that I’m dirty”, he stated

“That’s not nice I’ll go over and talk to her”, Rose insisted and then went over to Beatrice to clear things up.

“Hey Beatrice”, Rose said politely,

“Well howdy there sweetie aren’t you just darling”, Beatrice complimented Rose,

“Tee Hee thanks. Why don’t you like Manuel?”, Rose asked curiously then Beatrice explained that she didn’t like the fact that he was dirty so Rose tried to persuade her that she should try and look past the dirt and grime to find out what type of person he really is and Beatrice did.

“Rose told me to try and find out who you really are so I’ll take a stab at it. What are your favourite things to do?” Beatrice asked,

“I play Space Adventures; Attack of Zombie”, he told Beatrice. Then their conversation continued as Rose served Breakfast for everyone.

Chapter 8 

Zach's unfortunate encounter

Meanwhile over at Zach’s hut he was collecting gems and then he heard footsteps.

“Goodie my next slave or slaves, hee hee hee!” he said and then ate one of the creatures that he was cooking.

“Well well well, look at what we have here, a slave!” he said manically,

“Who are you calling a slave muscle head!” said the mysterious person,

“You Wayne Kerr, or should I say Wanker!” Zach said as he approached Wayne,

“How did YOU know my name?!” exclaimed Wayne,

“I have my sources hee hee hee!” laughed Zach as he pointed to the creatures,

“What the hell are those things? Your friends Ha Ha Ha Ha Haaa”, Wayne laughed,

“They’re Mustles, you dickhead!!” growled Zach,

“That’s it! It’s show time!” Wayne said as he grabbed a plant and ate it. He then shrunk to the size of a pen.

“Good show! Now for the real performance!” said Zach and then he stomped the ground trying to squash Wayne but he ran under his legs and ate some Mustle from the camp fire that was set up before, making him increase in size and muscle mass.

“Try this on for size!” Wayne said as he charged at Zach smashing him into the side of the mountain. The farm got destroyed and then the cave got destroyed and the mustle escaped unharmed.

“NO! YOU WILL PAY FOR THIS YOU FOOL!!!” screamed Zach as he flew into a frenzied rage and then started punching Wayne and shoving him into the ground. The ground shook and some birds flew out of the trees and while Wayne was pinned to the ground he decided to eat another plant and then he found out that he was returning to his normal size.

“WHAT!!” he yelled and then he saw that his skin was turning yellow and that sores were appearing all over his body and his previous powers had gone.

“GRAH!!!” he screamed as he burst into a rage and then red beams shot out of him obliterating Zach,

“Yeah! Ha ha ha haaa! So what if I’m a bit sickly looking it’s worth it I feel awesome dude”, he shouted happily.

“Now it’s time to take care of my annoying goodie too shoes brother”, he said and then he flew off into the distance.

Chapter 9 

The terrible discovery

Everyone was eating their breakfast happily and talking to each other then Stephanie spoke up.

“When are we going to find a way off this island? I’m starting to get sick of this place”, she said,

“Yeah we should be finding a way off this place not preparing to live here”, Huston said,

“I like this island it’s quiet and nice”, Manuel spoke up,

“You would you’re just a bum that’s all you are!” replied Stephanie,

“Hey skinny! Watch who your calling a bum! At least he ain’t a bitch like you!” Beatrice said while defending Manuel. She smiled at him and he smiled back. As I saw the smile at each other my immediate thought was that they more than liked each other.

“A bitch? A BITCH?! At least I’m not a whale like you fat ass!” snarled Stephanie,

“Well I never! I ought to teach you some manners missy”, Beatrice replied in disgust,

“QUIET!” J shouted, “Let’s not refer to name calling it is entirely inappropriate and uncalled for” he continued, “If we are to find the way out we will have to work together. First thing we will have to do is get Zach so he can help us and with him there are twelve of us so we can split up into groups and search the island and then meet back here”, he stated.

“That’s a good idea J. Me and you can get Zach because we already know where he is and everyone else can work on a plan to find the exit”, I said. So everyone agreed to my plan.

I and J went to look for Zach whilst the others worked on how to find the exit for the island, but by the time we arrived at the site where Zach was it was destroyed, the cave had caved in, the hut smashed into a pile of sticks, and there was a giant mysterious burnt circle which smelt like garbage.

“Pew that stinks”, I said as I held my nose,

“Indeed it is pungent but what is this?” J asked as he pointed towards a piece of cloth on the ground,

“It looks like what Zach was wearing”, I said and then I picked up the piece of cloth to get a closer look to see if it was,

“It is! Look this has Zach’s name on it”, I exclaimed as I was pointing out the tag that read ‘Zach Cooper’

“Oh no”, said J realising the fate that had befallen Zach. Then we headed back to the camp site to tell everyone what had happened.

Back at the camp site everyone had noticed that we looked saddened, and was curious to find out about what had happened. We explained about how we thought that Zach was killed and showed everyone the evidence.

“Let me look at that piece of cloth I’m a forensic investigator so I can tell if it was his” Beatrice insisted and grabbed the cloth from Aiden,

“Oh my good heavens!” she gasped then fainted and Manuel caught her,

“He’s dead isn’t he?” sobbed Rose. I nodded my head sadly and Rose broke out in tears,

“I’m sick of this island. My hairs going to be ruined, I’ve chipped a nail and my feet hurt!” Belle complained,

“This is why we spent all that time figuring out a plan. Rainbow told me that we are north so we’ll split up into three groups, two will have four people and one will have three people. Stephanie, Huston, Manuel and Beatrice will be one group who will be taking the south, Belle, Rose, me and Simon will be another group who will be taking the east which leaves Crystal, J and Rainbow for the third group who will be taking the west, any questions?” asked Aiden,

“Yes I have one? Why do I have to be partnered up with a blimp like her?” asked Stephanie rudely,

“You Bitch!” shouted Beatrice,

“So you can learn to work together. Now let’s set off and remember don’t eat the Booma berries or you’ll die”, added Aiden and then everybody agreed and set off in their groups.

Chapter 10 

Wayne's murderous ways

“I’m getting tired of all this walking”, said Beatrice,

“It’s probably because of all the food you’ve been eating”, Stephanie implied rudely,

“How dare you, you rude whore!” shouted Beatrice,

“You wife shouldn’t say nasty things to Beatrice, she’s a nice person”, Manuel told Huston,

“You’re correct, but she’s used to the city life. When she’s out of her comfort zone she’ll be aggressive”, Huston explained,

“Then you should control your wife!” Beatrice said annoyed,

“You should control how much you eat!” Stephanie shouted,

“WHY I NEVER! YOU RUDE BITCH!” yelled Beatrice and then from ahead wicked laughter was heard.

“Do you think this is funny? Come out so we can see you, you coward!” exclaimed Beatrice in a annoyed tone,

“Ha ha ha ha haaa, so you think I’m a coward HUH!?” said a mysterious man,

“Who the heck are you? You bum!” snarled Stephanie,

“Your worst nightmare Wayne Kerr HA HA HA HA HAAA!!!” he laughed malevolently,

“You! You’re the man that killed Zach!” shouted Manuel,

“Yeah I’m that guy and it was pretty fun too Ha Ha HAAA!” he said,

“You’re a maniac mister!” shouted Beatrice,

“Tell me something I don’t know fat ass! Ha ha ha ha ha!!” Wayne laughed rudely,

“Now you’ve gone too far!” Huston said. He then took a swipe at Wayne but Wayne dodged the punch.

“Is that all you got?” he said, “This is a punch!” Wayne shouted as he smashed Huston in the chest. Huston went flying in to a tree and a loud crack was heard. It was demonstrate by that action that he was stronger than any human was.

“Huston!” screamed Stephanie as she rushed to help him. She saw that his back was broken and that he was in a lot of pain.

“AHH! My back!” Huston cried out in pain as he tried to get up,

“Don’t get up you’ll make your back worse”, Stephanie said worried about her injured husband,

“You’re a very bad man!” Manuel shouted at Wayne,

“Why thank you you’re too kind!” Wayne said deviously,

“It’s no compliment! You should be the one that’s injured not Huston!” Manuel said,

“Or maybe it should be you!” Wayne shouted and then he picked Manuel up and threw him over the cliff,

“Oops he fall down go boom Ha ha haaa!” laughed Wayne manically,

“MANUEL!!” screamed Beatrice,

“I’d love to stay and chat but I gotta fly”, Wayne said and flew off into the distance.

“Huston he’s gone now”, Stephanie said,

“When I first met you, you stood out, you were always the best dressed and the happiest person and you haven’t changed nor do I want you to. Steph...I...love...you...forever”, Huston said. His voice started fading, his breathing became shallower and then eventually it stopped.

“Huston? HUSTON!! NOOO!!” cried Stephanie then she began pounding the ground.

“He’s gone now just like my Manuel”, Beatrice said softly,

“No! You’re wrong! Don’t you dare lie to me!” Stephanie shouted,

“I had to witness my darling die before my eyes too so I’m offering my shoulder for you to cry upon”, said Beatrice then Stephanie cried on her shoulder.

“You know when I first met Manuel I thought he looked like a bum. I didn’t even give him a chance to talk to me but then Rose talked me around and I talked to him we had a lot in common. We both like horses, we both like computer games and he was also very good at computers, he even told me some things about computers that I didn’t even know about but now he’s gone. I should have cherished the time I had with him”, said Beatrice.

“When I first meet Huston about twelve years ago I thought he was a bit stubborn. I tried to bend the rules at a night club once and he told me off for doing that, he even reported me to the night club security. I got kicked out but if I had known that he had been protecting me the whole time I would’ve been a lot less aggressive. He would always worry about me being too angry about something he worried that I would break the rules again. We would’ve been married about ten years now had he not died. I shouldn’t have been so mean and now it’s too late”, Stephanie told Beatrice,

“Well at least we can confide in each other now let’s look for a way out Stephanie”, said Beatrice,

“Good idea oh and just call me Steph, friend”, Steph said. And they shook hands then went on to find the exit.

Chapter 11 

Quicksand!

Stephanie and Beatrice eventually bumped into Simon, Rose, Belle and Aiden after a while searching for the exit.

“Stephanie! Beatrice! Did you find the exit?” asked Rose excitedly,

“No we didn’t”, Stephanie said sadly,

“What did happen?” asked Belle worried that something bad might have happened. Then they explained how they ran into Wayne and how he attacked Huston and Manuel viciously and that they suffered mortal wounds and that he had super strength and could fly.

They continued to talk about what had happened when suddenly it started to rain. The rain felt like tree sap. It was thick and sticky and as it got heavier and the wind started to pick up the six of them started to have trouble walking.

“Ugh! What is this stuff falling from the sky? It stinks and it’s so thick and sticky and to top it all off my perfect hair’s ruined”, complained Belle,

“I think that’s the least of our problems our path seems to be blocked it looks like we’re going to have to go cross country”, Aiden stated as he pointed out that a tree had fallen due to the strong winds.

“Great! Now we’re going to be stuck out in the wilderness with nothing to use for beauty products”, Belle whined,

“Well at lease you’re not alone”, Rose chimed in happily. Rose always could find a way of being happy, even in the gloomiest moments.

“And plus you have me”, Aiden said smiling at Belle,

“You’re right Aiden, thanks”, Belle said happily,

“Now let’s find a way out of here or we’ll be stuck in this muck, hey that rhymed, tee hee”, Rose giggled excitedly. Then everyone continued on to find another way along.

They continued along the sticky and muddy path and then found an opening.

“Wait! That clearing looks suspicious”, Simon warned everyone,

“We’ve got to find a way out of here and I’m pretty sure this is the way”, Beatrice said,

“I don’t like the look of that big mud patch over there”, Belle said concerned that Beatrice would go forward,

“Well I don’t care if you don’t like to get your clothes dirty but I want to find a way out of here and now!” Stephanie said. Then she moved forward and stepped into the mud. Beatrice followed behind her into the murky depths of the mud and then they started to have trouble moving and started sinking slowly.

“What’s happening? This is quicksand! Oh no!” screamed Beatrice as she tried to wriggle forward,

“Help us!” screamed Stephanie as she sank further into the sand,

“Don’t wriggle it will only make you sink faster!” Aiden told them. So they stopped but were still sinking so Aiden told Simon to find a vine to throw to them so that they could rescue them.

“I could only find this withered vine”, Simon said,

“It’ll have to do”, Aiden said and then he turned the vine into a lasso and threw it to Beatrice and Stephanie.

“Grab on!” Aiden said as he threw the vine into the quicksand. Beatrice and Stephanie both grabbed the vine but still they sank further then Belle, Simon, and Rose grabbed the vine and started pulling.

“NRGH!” everyone moaned as they were pulling both Beatrice and Stephanie and then Beatrice started to notice something,

“The vine’s starting to come apart!” Beatrice said,

“Oh No! We’re going to die!”, screamed Stephanie, “You fat pig! It’s your entire fault for being so fat!” shouted Stephanie,

“WHAT!!! HOW DARE YOU! We’re going to die and that’s what you have to say!”, shouted Beatrice angrily. Whilst they were arguing the vine became more unravelled.

“Hey! You two can’t be fighting at a time like this!” shouted Rose,

“That’s right! You two are going to have to work together!” shouted Simon then the vine snapped and both Stephanie and Beatrice started to sink quicker.

“HELP!” they both shouted as they tried to grab the vine but their heads went under and they drowned as their last breath turned into bubbles on top of the surface of the quicksand.

Sadness came over Belle and Rose as they had to see their two acquaintances die before their eyes, that which is probably one of the most disturbing things to see. They were too sad to talk but Aiden and Simon tried to cheer the both of them up, but to no avail.

Chapter 12 

The reunion

Me, J and Rainbow were in search of the exit from the island when it started to rain. The rain felt sticky and heavy like maple syrup but it smelt like rotting blood.

“Yuck! What is this stuff falling from the sky?” I asked disgusted by the substance falling from the sky,

“It’s rain. On this island the rain is very thick and sticky”, Rainbow said. She seemed to enjoy the rain and then she started to shrink.

“What happened? How come the rain shrunk you but kept both me and Crystal at our normal size?” J asked,

“That’s easy. The rain returns everything to normal even if the effects are permanent” Rainbow said,

“Ok that’s good we should bottle some of it in case we come along something that could harm us”, I stated,

“That’s a good idea Crystal”, said J enthusiastically and so we bottle the rain in some empty bottles that we found on the ground and put it in a make shift back pack then set forward in our journey.

We had continued on for some time and then we heard a scream so we went to investigate. By the time we had got there it was too late we saw that Belle and Rose had been traumatised and immediately assumed it was Wayne.

“That low life creep! How could he do such a horrible thing?” I said angrily,

“Huh? CRYSTAL!!” Rose said excitedly then she ran up to me and gave me a hug.

“I thought you were ‘sniff’ ”, Rose said then cried,

“No that didn’t happen and it won’t. I plan to live through this!” I said confidently and I saw J smile while Rose was hugging me so I smiled back and Belle saw,

“OH! J and Crystal are in love”, Belle said playfully,

“What if we are?” I asked,

“J and Crystal kissing in a tree K.I.S.S.I.N.G! First comes love then comes marriage then comes the baby in the carriage”, Rose sang trying to tease me and J,

“Knock it off”, I said as I was blushing into my top,

“Look! She’s blushing!” Rainbow said as she flew over towards us,

“Hey I thought you were bigger?” asked Simon,

“The rain shrunk me”, Rainbow told Simon. Then she went on to explain how the rain affects people who have been affected by the vegetation and wildlife on the island.

“Wow that’s good”, Aiden said,

“Why is it good?” Rainbow asked,

“Then that means that Wayne hasn’t got his powers anymore”, Aiden told her,

“What powers? How did he get the powers?”, I asked and then Aiden went on to explain what had happened with Huston and Manuel and that Beatrice and Stephanie’s deaths weren’t related to the fact that Wayne had obtained superhuman strength from eating a certain type of plant.

“Oh no! That’s terrible! I just hope that we don’t lose anyone else”, I said empathetically,

“Me either”, J replied, “I think it would be wise if we searched together”, he added,

“Yeah that would be a smart idea”, Simon added. So the group continued forward in search of the exit from the island.

“What does the exit look like?” asked Rose curiously,

“It looks like a cave but it glows a eerie purple colour”, Rainbow said,

“Cool! Just like in comics!” I said enthusiastically, “And we’ll be able to spot it from a distance too!”, I continued,

“Then what are we waiting for? Let’s go!” Rose said excitedly. So we continued along in search of the exit.

Chapter 13

Fire ants 

As the group continued along they came across what looked like a giant termite hill so the group went forward to investigate.

“Cool! Look at the termite hills they’re awesome!” Rose said in admiration of the shape of the mounds,

“Rose, keep away from them. They’re fire ant mounds!” warned Rainbow as she went to land on Rose’s shoulder,

“Fire ants? They won’t hurt us as long as we don’t disturb them”, Aiden said confidently,

“Fire ants can be very aggressive and dangerous on this island. They will attack anything that trespasses on their territory”, Rainbow warned everyone,

“What are they going to do? Spit fire on us?” laughed Simon,

“Yes they will”, Rainbow said annoyed that Simon would mock her,

“Um I don’t know about any of you guys but I feel like it’s getting warmer”, I said worryingly while fanning myself with my hand and then the ground started to tremble.

“Earthquake!” screamed Rose then suddenly a couple of giant feelers emerged from the mounds, then one after another the ants came out and started spitting fire balls at us.

“AHHH! They’re going to burn my beautiful clothes”, screamed Belle,

“I wouldn’t worry about your clothes I’d worry about getting our bums burnt!” I yelled as we started to run away from the fire ants.

As we continued to run away from the fire ants they kept following us as they spat fire balls at us constantly as they furiously chased us out of their territory.

“I told you so!” Rainbow told Simon angrily,

“Ok, ok no need to rub it in!” he replied,

“Now’s not the time to be fighting it’s time to be running!” Aiden said as he tried to keep the peace.

We had been running for a while by now and we were starting to get tired but the ants wouldn’t let up. It seemed like they weren’t going to stop chasing us, as if they were waiting for us to collapse from exhaustion from all the running.

“‘Puff, puff’ How long are they going to chase us?” Rose asked,

“It seem as though that they are not going to let up we may have to fight them”, J said,

“Fight?! Are you crazy?! We’ll get killed!!” I exclaimed,

“J’s right we will have to fight them or we’ll be ant food”, Aiden said and then he stopped and picked up a large piece of driftwood,

“Take this!” Aiden yelled and he let out a grunt as he smashed an fire ant in the head, killing it instantly,

“Yuck! Look at all the blood!” screamed Belle,

“I wanna try!” I said enthusiastically then I dodged a fire ball and kicked another fire ant in the head. Its head went flying off for miles.

“And it’s outta here!” I said jokingly. Then I turned around to see J, Simon and Aiden’s mouths were agape.

“Close your mouths, you’ll let the flies in!” I joked,

“Here comes more ants!” Rose exclaimed,

Then hoards of fire ants came rushing angrily at us throwing blazing hot fire balls at us and burning the plant life around them.

The terrain around everyone soon looked like a bush fire had been through. The trees were charred with fire–marked scars and the nearby sand had been turned to glass due to the intensity of the heat, then it gave Aiden an idea.

“I have an idea! Everyone pick up a branch and some melted glass and dip it in the sea as soon as possible!” Aiden told everyone,

“Why? The fire ants will corner us if we do that!” Simon replied,

“Trust me and do it quickly!” Aiden said hurriedly.

So everyone grabbed a branch and some melted glass and dipped the melted glass in the sea then a loud hiss was heard and steam rose up from where the glass was

“How long is this going to take Aiden?” I asked,

“Not long now, why?” Aiden replied,

“Just that the ants are starting to get very close”, I said worriedly,

“Well we should be done now”, Aiden replied. Then everyone took the branches out of the water.

As the fire ants approached us we got the branches and started hitting the ants. Belle was cornered by a group of fire ants and then one of the ants shot a fire ball at her, burning her top.

“My favourite top! That’s it! Take this!” Belle said furiously, and she nimbly avoided the fire ants attack and executed a brutal attack. One by one they fell, they still tried to attack us, but they succumbed to defeat eventually and fled the battlefield.

“Phew! I’m glad that’s over!” I said,

“Wow I’m impressed! You’re very agile Belle!” Aiden complimented Belle,

“Well I’ve got to be in case there’s a shopping rush”, she replied,

“That would be right!” I replied sarcastically,

“Hey!” Belle said, and everyone laughed.

Chapter 14 

The story that came to life

We continued along the beach trying to see if we could spot the exit from the island.

“Rainbow? What day month and year is it again?” I asked her,

“What do you mean?” she asked confused by what I meant by ‘again’,

“Well when you first talked I asked about the date and you said it was the 99/16/161987. I don’t understand how it can be that date, are we in the future?” I asked,

“What year was it where you came from?” asked Rainbow,

“2010”, I replied,

“Then you must be in the future”, Rainbow said,

“Cool! Time travel!” Rose said excitedly,

“So what are the names of the months?” Belle asked,

“Well there are twenty six months in each year. Agoo, Bagee, Cagoo, Dagoo, Eeoo, Fagoo, Gagoo, Hagoo, Igoo, Jigoo, Kitoo, Loo, Meeoo, Naoo, Ooee, Pikoo, Quoo, Ryu, Stew, Tooey, Umm, Valoo, Wahoo, Xiu, Yahoo and Zeeboo, and usually 123 days in each month, except for Fagoo, which has one extra day in it and the year is 161987. So it’s Pikoo, the 16th of the 17th of 161987”, Rainbow explained,

“Wait we’ve been here for forty one days! That’s a month and a half!” said J, worried that he would have missed his interview.

“Yes but time passes differently here. A month and a half would be five days in your time”, Rainbow said,

“How do you know?” Rose asked curiously,

“I overheard Zach talking about time to himself once”, she said,

“And what about the day’s? Do they have names too?” Simon asked,

“They are named after numbers like one, two, etc”, she told him,

“The names of the months sound funny, Agoo, Loo, Tee Hee!” giggled Rose,

“Yeah they are”, I said smiling at Rose.

We continued along the beach talking about our encounters on the island and what we did in the past and how different our world was from Rainbows and then Rose spotted an eerie glow in the distance.

“Hey! I think that’s the exit!” Rose said excitedly,

“It is”, Rainbow said trying to hide how she really feels about us leaving,

“Awesome! I’m going home now!” Belle said. Then as she ran towards the exit Wayne appeared before her.

“Going somewhere?” he asked, sounding crazy as ever,

“Wayne! It’s been a while brother!” Aiden said,

“Brother?” I asked Aiden,

“I’ll explain later”, Aiden said,

“Well, well, well, Look who it is, my little goodie too shoes brother Aiden. It’s been a while, hasn’t it?!” Wayne said,

“Yes it has and I heard about what you did to Zach, Huston and Manuel too!” Aiden said angrily,

“I guess good news travels fast, well bad news anyway, ha ha ha ha haaa!” laughed Wayne malevolently,

“You’re an evil person!” Rose shouted,

“And you’re a shrimp!” Wayne sneered,

“You should be ashamed of yourself”, Aiden said,

“I should shouldn’t I? Oh well!” Wayne said not caring about anything but himself and then suddenly a rumbling noise came from above.

“What’s that?” I asked myself and then with no time to react a meteor came crashing down to the ground hitting Aiden and Wayne.

“NOOO!” everyone shouted, and then something moved,

“Wow that was a pretty light meteor”, Aiden said. We looked upon him stunned by what we saw.

“What’s wrong?” Aiden asked then he realised that his skin was sky blue and his hair had been turned green,

“Um you look like that superhero you were telling us about before, Green Thumb”, I said to Aiden,

“That’s because he is, dumbass, and guess what? I’m Decay! Ha ha ha ha haaa!” Wayne laughed manically. His skin was sickly yellow with infected scabs all over him.

“Um can someone tell us what’s going on here?” J asked,

“Me and Wayne seem to have taken on the superhero’s powers closest to our personalities”, Aiden stated and then a rock came hurling towards him but he caught the rock,

“Nice catch, NOT!” Wayne said and he decided to fire a giant ray of radiation at the exit then a wall of diamond deflected the ray towards the sky.

“Not so fast Decay!” Aiden said referring to Wayne as Decay, “If someone’s going to set you straight it should be me!”, Aiden added then he took to the sky in hope that Wayne would follow and he did.

Aiden and Wayne soon started to fight. Radiation and lightning beams were being fired everywhere and me, Rose, Belle, J, Simon and Rainbow soon had to seek shelter.

Soon enough we found shelter and hid there to avoid getting hurt while Aiden and Wayne fought.

“I’m going to give you a taste of all the natural elements of this island!” Aiden said and grabbed Wayne by the shoulders and drove him into the water, then deep into the ground, but started to weaken so he went back to the surface.

“What happened?” Aiden asked himself and then he realised that there must be radiation in the islands ground and then suddenly Wayne smashed through the ground behind him,

“Ha ha ha ha haaa! Try this on for size!” Wayne’s voice boomed. Aiden turned around to see that Wayne was now 30’ and he was more powerful than ever.

“Scared? You should be!” Wayne said and then kicked Aiden in the side. Aiden was sent flying and landed in a pile of radioactive rocks and soon began to lose power.

“I’ll...never be defeated...by you!” Aiden gasped and held his hand to his head,

“What’s wrong? Got a headache? Let me help”, Wayne said and picked him up and threw him to the ground, and then suddenly Fire ants approached Wayne.

“Ants? Ha! That won’t do shit!” he laughed and stomped them.

“I called ... for backup... don’t get too hot...under the collar...about this”, Aiden said,

“What a waste, just like you Greenie weenie!” Wayne said then stomped on more fire ants.

Back at the shelter Belle started to worry about Aiden and then we saw some flaming animals rush past with multiple other animals.

“What’s happening?” I asked,

“I have a feeling that Aiden might need or help”, J said, and then some fire-horses stopped near us,

“What do you think it wants?” asked Rose,

“I think it wants us to follow it”, I said,

“It does, Aiden needs our help, get your weapons and mount the Stalliosis, I’ll catch up”, Rainbow said. So we did as she asked. On the way Rainbow told us that the fire-horses were called Stalliosis.

We eventually caught up with Aiden and saw he was injured.

“Aiden! You’re hurt!” Belle said,

“Look out Belle”, Aiden said softly,

“If it isn’t the ‘princess’, Belle”, Wayne said,

And if it isn’t the giant trash bin!” I said,

“Oh yeah!” Wayne shouted and picked me up with one hand and began to squeeze.

The pain got worse and worse as Wayne squeezed harder and then I remembered the bottled up rain and splashed it onto him but it did nothing. Then the fire ants began shooting fire at Wayne.

“Ouch! You little insects! You’ll pay for that!” Wayne said manically and then started to stomp erratically on the ants then from a distance a voice was heard,

“Why don’t you pick on someone much bigger than you!”, then Rainbow landed in front of Wayne. It was apparent that she had eaten some plant that made her forty foot tall.

“I’d prefer to pick on things much smaller than me, like you!” Wayne replied, then grabbed some nearby vegetation and started getting bigger and was soon fifty foot. Then as soon as he was about to attack Rainbow he got hit by a bolt of lightning.

“You should know to pick on people your own size, like me!” Aiden said. He was the same size as Wayne now.

“How did you get that big?” Wayne asked,

“Easy Belle gave me some plants that revived my powers and made me grow to fifty foot”, Aiden explained,

“Oh yeah! I’ll tear you down to size!!” Wayne screamed and took a swipe at Aiden but Aiden caught him and threw him into the volcano. Wayne shrunk back to his normal size and was rescued by Rainbow and tied up to make sure that he didn’t escape.

“Why didn’t he die?” I asked Aiden,

“He was super powered so I knew that he would lose his powers and return to normal size if he was exposed to natural elements”, Aiden explained, “And besides that volcano was full of collected rain”, he added,

“Will he be alright?” asked Rose,

“Yes he will he’s just unconscious”, Rainbow said,

“That’s good, even though what he’s done, I still don’t want my brother to die”, Aiden said,

“What did you mean by ‘brother’?” Jay asked Aiden,

“Well, he’s my twin brother. He was always trying to be the favourite and would often do some bad things to get attention and when he did get attention he was still bad so he started to hate me, thinking that I was the perfect one, and went insane due to that”, Aiden explained,

“Whoa that’s not good”, I said,

“No, it isn’t, but he’ll be behind bars when we get back”, Aiden said,

“Hopefully for good”, I added,

“Yes he will be”, Aiden said.

After a while the effects of the meteorite and the plants that Rainbow had consumed had worn off and we were able to go home.

“Well I guess this is goodbye”, Rainbow said sadly,

“Why don’t you come with us?” I suggested to Rainbow,

“I can’t. I have to look after this island. I’m the creator after all”, she said,

“Wow! I have an idea! I’ll write you a story and send it to you”, I said,

“Ok. Put the story in a bottle and when you get near the Bermuda triangle drop the bottle in I’ll get it”, Rainbow told me.

So we said our farewells to the inhabitants of the island and made our way back through the porthole, letting it whisk us back to Sleevesville.

Chapter 15 

Home sweet home

It was late when we arrived at Sleevesville, so we decided to drop Wayne of at the police station first where he was soon arrested for multiple acts of criminality.

“Ah it’s good to be back!” I said after dropping Wayne off at the police station,

“Yeah it is. I’m sleepy now. I’m going to go home for some shut eye, good night Crystal, J, Belle, Aiden and Simon!”, Rose said,

“Wait, I’ll walk you home”, Simon said to Rose,

“Awe, that’s sweet, ok thanks Simon”, replied Rose,

“You’re welcome”, Simon smiled then they walked home together.

“I need to catch up on my beauty sleep too, goodnight”, Belle added

“And I’ll walk with you. We don’t want any bad guys to hurt you”, Aiden said,

“O.k. And you can stay and have a drink too if you want”, Belle said,

“That sounds like an idea”, Aiden said. And he and Belle walked off into the night.

“See you later”, I said as I waved goodbye to Belle, Rose, Aiden and Simon. They waved back and went their separate ways.

“So what are you going to do? Probably go home. You’re probably very tired now”, I said to J, thinking of how lonely it would be at home by myself.

“I could always walk you home”, J said warmly,

“That sounds like a good idea”, I replied. So J walked me to my house which wasn’t too far from where we were.

“Here you are home sweet home”, J said cheerfully,

“Thanks for walking me home J. Do you want a drink or something to eat?” I asked him,

“That’s an offer that’s too good to pass up”, J said, smiling one of his charming smiles. It made me smile too.

“How’s your amnesia?” I asked him curiously whilst searching the fridge for something to eat and drink,

“Well it’s still there, unfortunately”, J replied,

“Don’t worry, you’ll get your memory back”, I said cheerfully as I placed the food and drinks on the table,

“Perhaps a kiss might bring it back”, J said light-heartedly as he put his drink down on the table,

“Let’s find out”, I replied and reached over to kiss him. It felt like we were kissing for days. I could taste the lemonade on his tongue as I rolled my tongue over his; it was warm and soft, a delightful experience that I would never forget.

“Wow! That was exhilarating!” I said excitedly,

“Indeed, you are a good kisser”, J answered happily,

“Did it help with your memory?” I asked J cheekily,

“No it didn’t, but I won’t forget that”, J said, smiling at me.

After a while of talking J decided to call it a night considering that he had an interview tomorrow with ‘Byte Me’ enterprises and I was exhausted after all of the commotion that had been going on, so I decided to go to sleep too.

Chapter 16 

The return of J's memory

J had arrived at Byte Me for his interview and asked the receptionist if the person who he had his interview was there, but to his surprise she already knew him.

“I’m here for my interview with Mr. Barnes”, J said,

“Yes, I’ll call hi... Julius? Is that you?” the receptionist asked,

“Julius? I’m J. You must have me mixed up with someone else”, J said. He began to wonder if he was working here before his amnesia.

“No, it is you Julius! I’ll call Mr Barnes right away and tell him you’re alive!” the receptionist said ecstatically and before J could stop her she had disappeared into her office.

A while later Mr Barnes turned up to see the good news,

“Julius Bell! It’s me, Jonathon Barnes. So you are alive! After that accident in the testing facilities we thought you were dead!” Jonathon said, happy to see J,

“Julius Bell? That must be my name, and what accident in the testing facilities?”, J asked, so Jonathon explained to J how he’s the founder and owner of Byte Me and how the faulty electric socket caused him to fall back and hit his head.

“Well that explains everything but I still don’t have my memory back”, J said,

“Maybe your office will trigger the return of your memory”, Jonathon said and guided him to his office.

“Here it is, your office”, Jonathon said happily,

“I remember everything! I’m Julius Bell the founder and owner of Byte Me! And I know where I live! Thank you Jonathon!” Julius said excitedly,

“Does that mean I get a pay rise?” asked Jonathon jokingly,

“You always liked to joke”, Julius said, amused at his joke,

“Always have and always will”, Jonathon said.

After work Julius decided to heads over to my house for a visit. ‘Ding dong!’ the doorbell chimed as I got up from writing my biography and answered the door,

“J! How was it? Did you get the job?” I asked even though I could tell that he did due to how happy he was,

“Even better! I got my memory back!”, Julius said,

“Awesome! So tell me everything starting with your name first”, I said excitedly. So Julius told me about how his name was Julius Bell, about how he was the founder and owner of Byte Me, and how he lived in Golden Hills.

“Golden Hills! Wow that’s the place I’ve always dreamed of living! Where the grass is greener, even though there is not much grass here in Sleevesville, the people are friendlier and well it’s just the best place you’re lucky”, I said feeling both happy and envy for Julius, but more happiness.

“Well you can always visit me. It’s a fair distance but you can still catch the train to Golden Hills”, Julius suggested,

“Yeah that sounds like a good idea”, I said thinking that now that he has a nice house in Golden Hills he wouldn’t want to visit me down here in Sleevesville.

A few days later I was continuing my work on the story that Rainbow asked me to write so she could remember us, and then I heard a knocking at the door.

“I wonder who that could be. Probably the landlord wanting his rent early, again”, I asked myself so then I answered the door and to my surprise I saw it was Julius,

“Hello stranger! It’s been a while”, Julius said,

“Julius! You visited!” I said, happily,

“Of course, didn’t you think that I would visit?” He asked,

“I wasn’t too sure because of how much of a crap place this is”, I said,

“I’m not that shallow. I love you Crystal so I’ll visit you, even if you live in a garbage bin”, he said,

“What about a toilet?” I asked jokingly,

“Very funny”, Julius laughed, “Do you want to go out tonight? I know this famous restaurant and I’ve booked a table for two for tonight so I hope the answer is yes”, Julius continued,

“Awesome! Yeah of course I’ll come”, I replied excitedly,

“Ok. I’ll pick you up at five, see you then”, Julius said and kissed me on the cheek before leaving. I went in and checked the time and saw it was three o clock, so I immediately went to have a shower.

“Ok, now what should I wear?” I asked myself as I was drying myself off from having a shower,

“Hmmm what about this red dress? Nah. Oh I know”, I said to myself and pulled out a nice dress,

“Perfect! Now to call Belle for my makeup”, I said to myself as I was holding the dress up to my body, so I rang Belle but I got her answering machine.

“Hello I’m busy making clothes and making people over so please leave a message at the beep”

I didn’t leave a message on her machine and dreaded having to do my own makeup, but knew I had no other choice, I had only one and a half hours left before Julius was picking me up so I put the dress on and decided to do my hair first.

“I think I’ll go with wavy hair”, I said thinking that it would shape my face. So I styled my hair but burnt it in the process. I was devastated but hid the burnt spot by wearing it up in a certain way and then I decided to do my own makeup. There was no problem with the makeup, except that I put too much blush on, and looked like I was burnt, so I thought that Julius wouldn’t notice and put my shoes on and got my bag and then I heard the doorbell.

“Hi Julius!” I said, embarrassed that he would notice how I stuffed up my makeup,

“Wow you look amazing Crystal!” Julius said,

“Really? I had no assistance with anything”, I said proudly,

“Very good effort. It’s not too much and it looks natural”, Julius complimented me,

“Thanks. I know Belle likes to make everyone look like a model but I like to go natural”, I said,

“It looks good have you got everything?” Julius asked,

“Yep I’m ready to go”, I said,

“Then let’s go”, Julius said. So after I locked up my apartment we went to the restaurant.

Chapter 17

The end, finally!

“Wow! This is the Le Rouge Homard! This place is supposed to be the most expensive restaurant in Golden Hills! How can you afford this?” I asked Julius in amazement,

“I’m the owner of Byte Me, remember?” he reminded me,

“That’s right, silly me”, I said, feeling silly about forgetting, then the waiter came to us,

“This way sir and madam, someone will be right with you, in the meantime please enjoy our free entertainment”, he said and sat us at a table next to a window.

“Wow what a nice view of the ocean”, I said in admiration of the sight of the sea. And beyond that there were rolling hills with yellow flowers.

“If you like that view just wait until you come over to my place for a visit”, Julius said,

“That sounds like a intimate thing to say”, I replied,

“I didn’t mean it like that, you have a dirty mind Crystal”, Julius said surprised and amused at what I said, then the waiter came,

“Sorry about the wait, have you decided yet?” he asked,

“Yes. How about the lobster? Does that sound good?” Julius asked me,

“Yum I love lobster”, I said enthusiastically,

“Shall I put you down for two?” asked the waiter jokingly,

“Nah just four”, I joked back,

“And what wine would you care for?” the waiter asked,

“Tonites special”, Julius said,

“Ok, it will be ready soon”, the waiter said and left,

“What does your house look like?” I asked Julius,

“It looks like a cottage in the country. Spacious, but not too big either”, Julius described,

“Wow sounds cool”, I said.

We got talking about Golden Hills and the various attractions here while we waited for the lobster, like the park, the rich history of Golden Hills, then our dinner arrived, so we ate it and drank our wine. After that Julius said that he would pay the bill and took me back to his place.

“Wow, this is a neat place”, I said as we arrived at his home. It was late at the time of arrival so we sat down on the couch and decided to relax.

“Thank you Crystal”, Julius said as he turned on the radio, and then my favourite song started to play.

“I love this song! It’s called ‘I don’t want to miss anything’ by Aeroguard”, I said,

“That’s right and it’s my favourite song too”, Julius told me,

“I think that you said that because it’s my favourite song”, I said sarcastically,

“Oh really? Well I think that you need to be tickled”, Julius said and started tickling me.

I squirmed and laughed as I was helpless to Julius’s tickling and then he turned me on my back. We looked into each other’s eyes romantically. I saw his aqua eyes gleam as he looked into my eyes then he lent forward, his chest pressing against mine, and kissed me on the mouth. I didn’t resist, then he took off his shirt and threw it to the ground, I saw his chiselled abs and chest then I followed suit, taking my top off too. Eventually we were in our underwear and let’s just say things got ‘sticky’ form there.

I woke to the sound of a rooster crowing and realised what had happened, so I decided to get dressed and head on home.

“What’s the rush?” Julius asked me seeing that I was getting dressed quickly,

“Oh I have to get home, I didn’t realise that it was morning”, I said,

“Well don’t forget to visit me, or if you want to you could live with me”, Julius suggested,

“I’ll think about it”, I replied and went home.

A few months had gone by and Rose and Simon had been officially dating each other for three months now and they were happy with where they were in their relationship, even though Simon had to work late hours due to him being a doctor he still had time to help her with her manga, helping her with the shading of her manga portraits which made her Manga books look more dramatic, so they were also able to move up to Golden Hills. Belle and Aiden had been going out for a couple of months now. Belle launched her new range of environmentally friendly fashion with Aiden’s help and he sold the glass sculptures he created as a hobby for a fair price and was able to move up to Golden Hills as well. And as for me I eventually decided to move to Golden Hills to take up Julius’s offer of living with him. Half a year later we decided to get married and Rainbow enjoyed the story that I finished for her and cherishes it. After that Rainbow decided to leave Mayawawa Island to live with me and Julius, so we showed her around Golden Hills and introduced her to our habitat.
